In 12+ years of doing this, I've only found one good watch.

I found a mid 60s Buren gold plated watch w/25 jewel movement about a month ago. I'm not sure it qualifies as "good" though.

I chucked the non-stock stretch band and put on a vegetable tanned pass-through strap w/brass stud

Why would anybody put a real Rolex on a fake bracelet.where is the logic here ?
Not tying to bust your balls just makes no sense .

With all that Rollexxx talk I almost forgot about the Ankarsrum mixer that was priced at $250.

Despite the $700 msrp thought the $250 asking price was a little steep

FYI, the Rolex Submariner is the most counterfeited watch in the world so keep that in mind if you ever run across one. Stop by a Rolex dealer and examine the real thing, that way the fake ones are all the more obvious. First giveaway is usually the weight, i.e. how light they are compared to the legit ones.

Recent finds...

A few giant hides, which is fortuitous as I just bought an antique banker's desk that needs a new leather inlay.

Nothing major here, but the shooting jacket is made by an anonymous tailor and has neat details. The leathers don't have a pedigree, but I have to admit that they are pretty nice.

Recent finds, continued...

Sunglasses on the left are B&L Wayfarers.

I liked these:

Top to bottom: Adidas, Carrera and a gamble that didn't pay off but are neat in any case, Volkswagen Design.

Found a box of perfume bottles and most were empty. They were mostly testers from 25+ years ago, but grabbed a few neat bottles that had something left. The set is NIB from a local store. Better than expected.

Only a mini, but a fun find. It's been discontinued for a while and prices are crazy.

First thrift store in over a year. Had to go to my tie honey hole. All Zegna and Canali today. Plus a pop on Helmut Lang with a sweet overdyed trucker and some Ray Bans for my wife. Feels good to be back.
