For some reason I find the pocket flap treatment on Italian coats less attractive
than found on US/UK traditional coats. On Italian coats the flap does not usually
extend fully across the patch pocket. On US/UK coats it usually extends further:

You mean you like the pockets below?

But not these ones?

If so, I agree. It looks more finished

Birth control glasses? That's a new one to me.
Yep. Wow, article is 3 years old, I swear I remember this releasing last year.

BCG's were standard issue in the military, and can be found for pretty cheap.

I don't stray into the general interest forums and did not expect a large conservative group on SF until the covid thread and boy do we have some members who believe the white race and western Christian culture is in peril....

You might want to try Abraham Moon twill Tweed which has a pronounced twill and fuzziness of the fox bros. It weighs around 360g. However the colours tend to be warmer than those fox bros char colours. Spier and Mackay has a large selection for MTO

Thanks for the suggestion, will have a look at Abraham Moon's offerings!

If anyone has any further ideas, I'm still looking for opinions on what kind of a tweed or rougher wool would work nicely as a db with brass buttons.

And a lot of them eventually got themselves banned. SF leans pretty liberal. If you want something more conservative, go over to the rolexforums. Much different flavor over there.
