I think especially bitter hops are used to make them last longer, and aroma hops (often dry-hopped) more for smell and taste. And those aroma hops quickly lose their aroma.

Best purchase 2016... Skip that: best purchase ever... A pre-fab STC-1000... External cooling/ heating system... It cost about 4 times as much as one you have to install yourself, but I'm no electrician and I'd probably blow up the neighbourhood trying to install it myself...

This is a "plug and play" version... Plug your fridge in the box, pop the temperature gauge in your fridge, and choose your desired temperature... Goes from -50C° to +99C°... How brilliant is that...

Disagree... The funky, bonkers 44 was brilliant... The fruity, sweeter 77 was excellent... This, this is too damn sweet... I might change my mind, have enough here to try 'm regularly, but right now: not a fan...

Who's coming over for a vertical?.. 44 // 77 // 79 :)

I thought that was the 44, I didn't see the number...

They don't even have separate entries on RateBeer, whilst being entirely different animals... I was really looking forward to this... A 9% fruity geuze... Sounded great...

Similar control units are used often for home brewers that ferment at specific temperatures. Great investment to get all your drinking temps just right.

Yeah it has a heating function as well - which I won't be using... But it's so nice to be able to always have your beer at ~53F...

Perfect. **** beer called America mirrors where our Presidential election is going this year.

This **** is tailor-made for the hicks out there. They are going to drink it up once they hit shelves.

Happy Birthday!

Was going to reply when i saw Pseudosue in there. It's a really enjoyable, sit-on-a-deck-and-crush-a-bunch-of-them pale ale.

Happy birthday!

Also, totally jealous of that beer fridge of yours. We're currently building a new garage and I think I'm most excited about the project (which has expanded to include our entire backyard) because I'm going to buy a used fridge to put in it solely for beer storage.
