Out of curiosity whose makeup is that? Interesting choice to have blind eyelets on a shell boot with commando soles.

That was from Alden of Carmel. I was not sure I liked that blind eyelet, but it has grown on me. Especially since these came to me when the guy who ordered them bailed on the purchase and the entire deposit was credited to me. Super good deal. BTW, Alden of SF has a hooks and blind eyelet straight tip on all leather sole. Style 4070H and also the same in black, both shell. When I spoke to them some years ago he claimed the blind eyelet was a common request from customers who wanted it to look more business.

No sales allowed. Retailers have last call sections and what not for stuff that didn’t sell for whatever reason. Last call can be like 20-30 % off depending on retailer

Alden is apparently producing color 2 again and this looks pretty color 2-ish to me. Where did you get them?

It's color 2 - I was expecting something more reddish, like mdub's versions he has on the Alden of San Diego site. I like them - but they are somewhat similar to boots I already own.

Color 2 today looks like Color 4 of the past.

Also don’t forget that the AoC 20/20 LWB and the Tassels unlined LHS from 2014 were both made with unglazed / unfinished Color 2, so Alden didn’t slap any of its usual stuff on the shells, which tends to lead to a darker overall finish.

The really red color 2 was discontinued a while back. Its gonna be garnet nowadays which is basically a lighter color 4.

Yeah, the only time I've ever gotten a discount from Alden was when I purchased a display model. And even then, it was only about 10% off. No regrets though. I wore my Moulded Shoe pair today. Happy Friday, evenyone.

if you mean the one in the middle it is 6243F so I don't think so. I actually expected this one to be a lot brighter brown.

Happy Thanksgiving to my forum pals. In this ever questionable world it is nice to have a day that reinforces the need to pause and to actually be thankful for the good things you have. We all have something to be thankful for, whether that is friends, family, health, wealth, the absence of a shooting war in the town or just having some great shoes in the closet. Be grateful for any blessing you have and try to do something soon for someone that may have even less.
