The closest Berluti will probably ever come to a "normal" double monk strap, no Scitto gimmicks, just a plane black captoe with a subtle patina. This model is also Goodyear welted which is rather rare for Berluti. That cut in the middle of the strap, I do not know what to make of it...

What do you all think of the shoes:

And here is the product link.

Equilibre is one of the best lasts they launched in recent years, IMHO. The almond toe works very well for a variety of styles, including these monks.

Personally I would prefer shoes without the decorative “holes”. But it’s Berluti aesthetics and adds to the recognizability of the shoes.

New Chelsea boots on the “Demesure Neo” last. None of the sales associates could tell me exactly what was new about the Neo. Some asserted that it looks more narrow.

These are some classic pairs from Berluti, although Blake structured, the fit and shape looks attractive.

I wouldn’t say *although* 😙

Blake is a feature of many lines of Berluti shoes, not a defect. Sure, Goodyear or Handwelted can be easier to or survive more resoles, but the target Berluti customer cannot benefit from more than once or twice…

I can tell your affection for this brand. I don’t mean Blake is inferior, but the way BERLUTI finish is kind of a shame.

New pick up: Double monk-straps in burgundy (they call it Merlot). I'll add for the record that these are goodyear welted.

Interesting.

A local boutique has these for about 50% off, but the scribbles make it less versatile

The expert's notes reminds me of a commercial that ran in the 80's that opened with "haven't you always dreamed of owning an above ground pool." Nothing says dress shoe like getting a tattoo on one of them. But only on one of them, otherwise it wouldn't be dressy anymore.

Berluti relishes leather craftsmanship that extends beyond just aesthetics and quality construction — it's rooted in the philosophy of hard work. The Alessandro Galet Oxfords, from the brand's Permanent Collection has everything you could want in a dress shoe — the lace-up style features comfort and elegance all in one. An asymetrical Scritto pattern engraved on the right foot while the left one remains plain decorate the pair for an unerringly sophisticated design that is sure to outlive the others — it's a Berluti icon.

is that normally 3.5k for what looks like Blake rapid welted shoes? 😂
