Suitsupply: Can the Napoli suit jacket be re-purposed into a blazer?

I have a SS Napoli in mid-blue (https://suitsupply.com/en-us/men/suits/mid-blue-napoli-suit/P6238I.html) but the pants are no longer wearable. Given it's a lighter colour and SS's generally slimmer/shorter fit, can the jacket pass as a blazer to be paired with jeans or chinos?

I already have several suits, so don't find the need to get replacement pants custom-made for this jacket. So deciding between holding onto it or donating.

This is always up for discussion. One might say that the type of pockets makes the suit jacket too formal to be used as a blazer. I would say yes, you can use it as a blazer due to the more casual color and fabric, and 99.9% of the people will not notice the pocket type.

What happened to the pants, if I may ask? I recently got a pair of pants from the same fabric in light grey so I'm curious.

Appreciate the feedback!

I had the pants altered to fit a little slimmer in 2019 but my thighs grew a bit from lifting over the past few years. The original fit of the pants would have allow for it but unfortunately it cannot be opened back up because the tailor cut out the excess material instead of leaving it in. It's a shame really but nothing to do with the quality of SS!

I hate suit jackets worn as sport coats, but I think this suit jacket would be great as a sport coat.

The flaps don’t bother me but another option is to sew the flaps inside the pockets - I do that a lot. I like a clean look.

Based on the color and fabric, I would say it could be used as a sports jacket without reservation. Add some metal buttons and you could make into a blazer.
