A friend is selling me his Bedford jacket. Does it look to big on me?

Length and sleeves seem about right, but you're a bit narrow in the shoulders and maybe also the chest. Depends how well you like a relaxed or slouchy look IMO. Could be just right, could be it's not the right proportions for you, just depends on how you like it to look.

The more I look at the pictures the more I'm on board, but you're the one who has to wear it.

Thanks. I might have considered going a size down but the sleeves would have been way too short.

That Bedford looks like it's a touch too big in the body to me, although I agree that sizing down may not work in the sleeves.

I think the shoulders are too big, even for a slouchy fit. But if the bro-deal price is right I'd make it work...

Would it be a stupid idea to just have the shoulders taken in? (asuming I can find a good tailor). I wouldn't normally consider it, but he's letting it go for a really great price.

No, tailoring shoulders can't really happen. It's the one thing you should build a proper, classic, sport coat on. That said, a Bedford isn't any of those things.

It's a super casual and rad piece that you can layer, or wear loose and open, and just be relaxed and chill about it. Just wear it, cuz it rocks as is. It's supposed to fit on the looser side.

It's not supposed to have high armholes, and fully cover your arms down to the wrist, and be long enough to blah blah blah who cares man you're not wearing it to your wedding.
