I have a wedding coming up in a few months (not my own, alas) in the south of France, where I fear the weather will be the kind of hot that drives horses mad. I have a tropical wool suit (in navy) and a linen suit (tobacco brown), I haven't decided which I'm going to wear yet, as I'm mostly concerned about the shirting -- specifically, what sort of fabric will help stop me being reduced to a puddle of sweat?
It'll be a moderately casual vibe, and stupidly hot, so I'm not bothering with a tie: what kind of shirt would you guys recommend? Maybe seersucker? Or more linen? Is it a faux pas, or even desirable, to wear a linen shirt with a linen suit?
Advice, as ever, gratefully received.
