Just made an account so I could share this. Had been looking for a fix to extra room in the heel of my boots. Just got Saint Laurent ranger boots so I wasn't about to use any adhesive tongue pads. Looked at equine gel cushions and thought man I should just use a running sock and basically thats what did the trick. If you have extra room in the heel of a boot because one of your feet is smaller than the other, and the boots are sized correctly, cut a Nike cushioned (or half cushioned) running sock so that the heel is the only part you end up using and then wear that underneath your normal socks. It works perfectly for me. Just wanted to share this cause it's such a good solution and I hadn't found anything else online besides tongue pads etc. This still leaves the rest of the foot/toe box spacious and comfortable. This should also work for dress shoes or any pair of shoes really.
