I would go for a pillot's watch. Either the IWC Pilot Chrono or the Breitling Navi. Both classics and both look great on leather straps. Bracelets are for girls.

Rolex Sea Dweller 4000 ref 16660 or 16600. Sadly now discontinued and replaced by the pointless and silly Deep Sea. I'd still like one though.
