Are you including bespoke or only RTW?

This also seems like an "eye of the beholder" kind of question; too much subjectivity to generate useful responses IMHO.

Those aren't bespoke shoes. They're also some of the ugliest shoes I've ever seen.

John Lobb bespoke from the St James's Street shop in London is what I'm told. But I don't own a pair nor can I compare it to anything.

So fight on!

Edward Green or John Lobb London. Vass and Koji Suzuki are also very, very good. I believe the Suzuki's are probably the most expensive of the four I mentioned, but by God they look amazing:

Now for something completely different. This post is from AAAC
showing several pairs of Bespoke shoes from Scheer, Vienna. They are
not oxfords, but derbies but to my mind illustrate the pinnacle of
the shoemakers art. In addition, a member has sent photos of his
shoes (MTM) from St Crispins, another pillar of the Austro_Hungarian
shoemaking tradition.
