Extremely high rise trousers is a current hip trend. I don't like it either, it ruins proportions and looks like a caricature. For some reason it's unsettling for me. But when worn with jacket buttoned (especially a db one) it doesn't bother me

Those trousers aren't extremely high and high waist trousers in general aren't a trend. It's how they have been always worn and in my opinion should be worn.

They are extremely high, way above the belly button. Trousers in this cut weren't worn after 60s or so. They need suspenders, otherwise they would slide 10 cm down. That's not how you should wear your trousers. The rise of the trousers should depend on an individual and take into account their body proportions, like short/long legs vs torso. With that in m8nd trousers should be cut accordingly to balance out upper and lower body. I think for most folks mid rise trousers are the right choice. Mid raise - sit on a natural waist line, just below or on the belly button.

That's exactly how you should wear your trousers! I honestly think high waisted trousers ALWAYS look better when done right rather than low cut trousers.

Only if you want to look like an old man, you are obese, you have short legs and long torso, you are wearing a costume or you are a hipster.
Otherwise trousers would be way too high, creating a disproportionate appearance of legs and you'd look like a clown

P.S. I didn't say anything about a low rise trousers. That's the opposite evil.

Quite the opposite. High waisted trousers flatter most men regardless of their height or weight. 90% of men don't have perfect physique or proportions.

Apparently we have a totally opposite understanding of proportions and what's flattering 🤷

This is a good look, but his trousers are a bit low rise for me and button placement on the blazer isn't perfect.

Pretty quirky this style, but I like it. Low gorge and rather narrow lapels evoke the 40s, lovely full cut on the trousers. I won't button the lower button of course.

I like this too, but I wouldn't characterize the lapels as narrow but rather as short. They are quite broad at the top. Agree on the trousers.

Well, many things are subjective and relative, speaking of style. I'd say that they look narrow in relation to my preference and also in comparison with what you usually see nowadays (see, for example, the picture above). I agree that they also look short, due principally to the low gorge.
