$10 + another ~$10 in shipping. They're used and supposed to be in good condition, but did have "slight stitching repair" done.

No, they should have cost $5. You totally got ripped off.

Are you really asking if you got a good deal at $10? If they are wearable then I think you got a good deal.

you paid too much for both, shipping should have only been $5 dollars as well.

I don't have any experience with shoes that have been repaired - I guess my real question is: Do repairs destroy the re-sale value of a shoe?

Given that you've spent $20 total so far, I would send them off to Allen-Edmonds for recrafting. It won't destroy the ($10) resale value, might enhance it, and will get you a pair of shoes in pretty good condition, assuming the uppers aren't totally destroyed.

Yup, you should have waited for $10 EGs, or stretched the budget a bit to $15 JLs

Is that for one shoe or the pair? Separation of pairs usually decreases resale value significantly

Yeah, I can't really justify spending a lot of money on shoes at the moment. I'm still trying to figure out what I like and what works well for me, so buying a used pair of expensive shoes is less risky than buying a new pair of expensive shoes.
