Am I misremembering or was there a different selection of winter sale items when the sale was the 35% off code vs. now when it is no code and the items are in the general “sale” section? I distinctly remember looking at the Valstar cowboy jackets as part of the code winter sale, but they’re not in the sale now it seems. Just an example. (And of course, “don’t sleep” remains applicable as always.)

That's correct. In the final stages of the sale, we have discounts reflected online on the product page, and discount % varies from product to product.

SS24 Week One: Next Week Is Here Already

If you can believe it, this Friday brings our first drop of SS24. As is typical, we're kicking off a new season with our full selection from Japan's Sage de Cret. The summer fabrics are as much of a highlight as the winter ones from them, which is always a treat. We've got stuff like cotton and hemp, soft linen, shirred rayon and cotton, cotton and linen denim - you know, very SdC stuff. All of it washed and rumpled and full of life.

The model that is seemingly everywhere (really) is wearing a new shape from them, a "short work jacket" in the aforementioned 9oz cotton and linen. A nice alternative to both a trucker and a chore coat, the short boxy shape works really well with wider silhouettes.

Made up in the same lightweight cotton/linen denim are a pair of five pocket easy pants, which really makes the most sense given the lightness of the fabric. Real easy summer go-to here for something both breezy and easy to wear.

Which means we had to do those same pegtop joints in the natural undyed version of the 9oz cotton/linen as well. Really, between these two you could theoretically have your lower half pretty well sorted for most spring and summer casual situations

Our final piece in that same fabric is a new work shirt, full of fun details. The giant pockets are the mot obvious but it also has half-raglan sleeves, the tonal buttons keep it almost uniform-like, and the cuffs and hem each have buttons to cinch in and build some volume. Cool stuff.

We've go some regular shirts though, like this open collar one ironically being worn fully buttoned in the lookbook. But I guess that's one way of expessing an uhhh editorial vision, isn't it. Their plaids area always solid (heh) and this is no exception, cut in a super soft linen that I'd personally let flow in the breeze instead.

The other checked shirt is in a shirred rayon and cotton. Tons of texture here, really unexpected colors that come together beautifully, and simply something that would only come from SdC.

They consistently surprise us with their guayaberas and short sleeve shackets, and this season they just went for it with a cotton jacquard featuring alternative panels of different striped dots. Completely unexpected but it totally works for the shape, and I can't imagine it looking as good in any other context.

Rounding our shirts we've got a pair of dolman sleeve tees in heavy cotton. These are a sleeper hit from them always, and it's a little unexpected at first but the shape quickly grows on you. Both the stripes and the faded saxe blue would look great with some textured military inspired pants and...

Funny that. We just happen to have these in a high-density cotton/hemp. Pegtop shape with the elastic waist, roomy upper and slight taper AKA the easiest thing to wear on hot days.

Sage_de_Cret_Japan_SS24_Wide_Easy_Pants_in_Navy_high-density_cotton_hemp (7).jpg

In the same cotton and hemp we also went for some wide baker easy pants in navy, which unsurprisingly would look good with anything else in this collection.

And for when you're feeling ready to show off your legs, we got our favorite shorts shape from them in both colors of the same cotton and hemp. Instant favorites.
