Matching Shoe Polish To Shoe Color?...

How do you go about getting the best color match between your shoe's original color and polish or wax? Many online sellers sell shoes, i.e. C & J in their "unique" colors...chestnut, but do not offer the corresponding chestnut polish. Some manufacturers do not even make color-matched...

How often to polish and condition shoes?

I got this info from "A Suitable Wardrobe". I found it to be a bit much to condition my shoes each time I polished them. I usually use conditioner every 2nd or 3rd polish. http://asuitablewardrobe.dynend.com/...r-at-time.html 1) Apply a conditioner (e.g. Saphir Renovateur). 2) Let shoes dry a...

Wanna clean my shoes so I can return them...Shhh

I've bought a pair of Clark's Wallabees. I don't like 'em, they're rubbing the hell out of my right foot and they just feel awkward to wear. Problem is, I've already worn them outside, not much just a bit of walking but the crepe sole has blackened. Is there anyway I can clean them up so...

Hard & Soft Bristle Brushes for polishing?

Looking for some advice on when to use which brush... Some say to use the soft to clean dirt then polish with the hard. I've also heard the other way around. What do you guys do and recommend? I like to get my shoes shining like patent leather.

    How to polish blue shoes?

How does one polish blue calf leather shoes? I can't seem to find any dark blue polish. On another note, if one can't match the shade of polish to the shoe exactly, would one use the nearest tone that's lighter or darker? Thanks for all the advice in advance.

Is it a mistake to use neutral shoe polish??

Just got my hands on a pair of new Grenson Epsom Cognac grain calf shoes... Pediwear supplied a tin of neutral polish, and thought I'll do a pre-polish with it.... Man...is there something wrong with my shoes or is the neutral shoe polish turning the shade way darker?! Will applying leather...

    Restoring sun-faded shoes

I just bought a pair of shoes that must have been the store's display pair as one shoe is significantly lighter in color than the other. Aside from sitting the darker shoe on a sunny window sill for a couple months, is there a good way I can equalize the colors of the shoes?

    Darkening Shoes

Gents, I have started to darken a pair of Martegani Lucca shoes purchased from Ron but I am not exactly sure on how to do this. Btw, I love the shoes but I work in a pretty conservative office and I don't think I can get away with the current color. I have read all the posts on the subject but...

    How to remove shoe polish?

I polished my brown shoes with a slightly darker polish, hoping to darken them. Unfortunately, they didn't turn out as well as I'd like. I'd like to remove the wax and start over. What is the best way to do this? From reading the threads, it seems that acetone would be overkill. Are there other...
