Haven't seen a boot on Aberdeen. Have Aberdeen NST Shoes and find that if I size up 1/2 size in same width I am good and they are very comfortable. The Plaza NST Boot is the same 1/2 size up for me.
Thank you my friend...

Thanks everyone. They are C&J Marlows... A cheap eBay score that has definitely seen too much light. But I still love them. Here's some better shots

Edit: lighting changes a lot... Half the reason I love them. I'm always looking down to see "what shade they are now" depending on location

The cordovan family out for some brushing. The 975s are the new favorite and recently acquired in trade with another member here. Thank you!

As I started my day today, it was supposed to be an ok day... Cloudy and overcast but no rain, nonetheless, I put a coating of Alden Defender on my very shiny shells...

As fate would have it (and taking into consideration the only profession I know of where people get paid for being wrong most of the time), I was coming out of meeting this afternoon and found myself in heavy downpour, teaming rain... And I look down at my shells and shook my head saying "Oh crap"... Made a dash... Got soaked ... Including the shells... I figured I was destined for chicken pox'd shells for the next few weeks with vestigial marks to remind me for years to come ...

I have to tell you, defender worked great, I wiped the shells down in the car, looked at them tonight and not a blemish to be found... Stuff works great... Thank you Alden!

Thank you, Uncle. The new house has lots more closet space for my humble but growing collection. The suede promotes good mental health because it's so comfy. Hope all is well with you these days.

nephew,
all is well. the additional closets will be very useful

Glad your shells continue to look wonderful, Calceo. I'm now very glad about having purchased the Alden LD during a recent JCrew sale. I think I need to pick up an additional one for the car. My wife already thinks I'm weird for keeping a shine brush and polishing cloth in the car. She just doesn't understand that anywhere is a fine venue for a quick Mac Method touch up...

just got back in town, had a couple boxes waiting for me.. excuse the poor photos (and non alden content), snapped them with my phone in horrible lighting. will try for better photos in the weather cooperates tmrw

ravello nst from shoemart (nice of them to include the leather shoe horn
smile.gif
)

brown 3 eyelet boat shoe from http://www.newenglandouterwear.com. great group of guys, already planning a couple more options for the coming months

patriot factory brown shell seconds from AE. i think the "defect" are some lines across the toebox. a non issue to me as the creases will set in anyway

second pic shows the discounted AE burgundy shell belt i also received (lying on the shell patriots). was hoping it would match with my alden #8 but its clearly lighter. not sure I'm i'll keep this one..

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
