Hi All,

The Hanger Project is a new affiliate, and has a unique relationship with the Styleforum and Askandyaboutclothes. The company actually grew out of a demand on the fora for premium wooden hanger, something that was impossible to find, especially in the variety of widths needed to ensure proper support at the shoulders of a jacket, or hangers that allowed trousers (pants!) to be hung without creasing.

Accordingly, the Hanger Project set out to develop the best hanger available. To ensure proper support, three suit hanger widths are offered "”17.0, 18.5, and 20.0 inches"”enabling a perfect fit for even the broadest shoulders. The 20.0 inch hanger is the first able to accommodate jackets larger than size 46. Two widths available for shirt hangers. A fully contoured profile with 2.5 inch shoulder flares"”the widest available"”provides opulent shoulder support, ensuring that one's jacket shoulders never collapse. And the Felted Trouser Bar does not cause the creasing typical with locking-bar hangers.

The Hanger Project uses solid maple for all of their hangers (no plastic!), offering beautiful hangers that complement our wardrobes and provide the support needed to properly maintain the shape of our beloved suits (and sportsjackets, and blazers. and chesterfields, and so on.) They can be found at www.HangerProject.com.

Have fun.

Fok.

Hello you all! Most of you probably already know about The Hanger Project--we've been around the forms for almost two years now (hard to believe). The mission of The Hanger Project is simple: to create the first collection of luxury wooden hangers that compromise no standards. A hanger as handsome as it is functional. A hanger that both extends the life of one’s prized garments and revitalize closets into sanctuaries. Just as shoe trees help preserve shoes, quality hangers protect a suit’s shoulder construction and drape. Proper garment support is essential to the maintenance and care of any finely tailored garment (just ask your tailor what suits typically look like after a year on most hangers). The Hanger Project left no detail untouched while creating the best hanger for the best clothes. Function Through collaboration with tailors, dandies, and men of style, The Hanger Project sought out and combined the finest characteristics of all hangers into one hanger: The Suit Hanger. Through superior construction and opulent shoulder support, The Hanger Project will ensure one’s suits look as great every day as they did the first. Finally, men no longer have to begin their days with limp garments. Most notably, we offer three different suit hanger widths--which is one of the most distinguishing features of our suit hangers. As with quality shoe trees, one size does not fit all. This is especially true when it comes to the size of your jacket hangers. Too narrow and your jacket shoulders do not receive proper support; too wide and you risk damage to your sleeve fabric. Three sizes allow now allow discerning gentlemen the opportunity to tailor their hangers. Other features include: Aesthetics Men of style everywhere jump at the opportunity to retire cardboard and plastic hangers with hangers that are not feature an uncompromising finish, but protect and prolong the life of his wardrobe. Hangers from The Hanger Project transform closets into sanctuaries. Garments will no longer look limp throughout their life from one bad hanger to another. All hangers are constructed from the finest solid maple wood from the Pacific Northwest and finished with a premium walnut stain. Maple wood is characterized by its beautiful, decorative wood grain, which is only enhanced by the hanger’s finish. These hangers dignify both closets and garments. A Full Range of Hangers The Hanger Project's commitment to quality is seen across our entire range of hangers--from offering two shirt hanger widths to three varieties of trouser hangers. All of our hangers also match, allowing one's entire closet (both sides, at that, also) to finally enjoy uncompromising quality and luxury. I personally invite Style Forum members to evaluate The Hanger Project. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your hangers, we will glad pay for you to ship them back to us and extend a full refund. However, we know this to rarely be the case. Respectfully yours, Kirby [email protected] (800) 495-3201 You tailor your clothes. Now tailor your hangers.

They look nice, but a clamp style trouser bar is much better than a round foldover bar, IMO. Maybe that should be the next model?

I actually picked up 10 of the felted clamps and I find them most useful for steaming my trousers. Due to a upcoming remodeling (and shrinking) of my closet space, I will probably go to the foldover bar.

By the way, They seem to be a good company. They shipped my hangers (trouser clamps and suit hangers) promptly. Good communication and a very nice product. I will be placing another order soon.

Pro - great point! The Felted Trouser Bar Hanger is great because of it's simplicity and that you can store several trousers on one bar (I place up to four trousers on one hanger). However, the Trouser Clamp Hanger has a small hook on the mechanism that allows one to vertically daisy chain several of the hangers together. This goes a long way to reducing closet rod congestion, which is always a challenge with quality hangers (by design, they are larger).

Personally, I primarily use the Clamping Trouser Hanger because I like how it "pulls" the wrinkles out after each wearing by hanging the trousers upside down by the cuff. By daisy-chaining three together vertically, I also reduced rod usage by about 30%. However, I recently rotated some of the Felted Trouser Bar Hangers back in so that I could fold several over one bar (dramatic reduction in rod usage, but only useful for trousers not worn often).

Thanks! We are still a small company, so it allows us greater flexibility in making sure we take care of our customers. I always do my best to make sure hangers arrive undamaged (UPS is often rough with them; we recently upgraded to a sturdier box because of this) and promptly. We also gladly take returns should a hanger ever not fit PERFECTLY (our standard) or, for instance, someone ordered the clamping trouser hangers but wanted to try the felted bar...

Soon we should be posting some information on our website about how to make more efficient use of closet space... stay tuned (if you have any good suggestions, please PM me!).

Cheers,

Kirby

They look really nice. How much is international shipping? To Sweden for example. I'm guessing you are US based.

Have a birthday coming up. Maybe I'll ask my sister or girlfriend to spring for some of these.

Need a couple coat hangers.

Freaking SF!! When I first came on here I thought these, although obviously well-made and worth it, were too expensive...

Swede-

We gladly ship internationally. We bill for the actual cost of international shipment via USPS, which is much cheaper than UPS and has better customs treatment. Our website charges domestic shipping at checkout, then we send a PayPal invoice for the extra costs after the hangers ship.

Cheers!

I might be blind, but I didn't seen any hangers just for sportscoats. It seems superfluous to have a pants "function" on a hanger used exclusively for just a coat.

Regardless, sorry for the nitpicking on a great product. I'm going to have to get some of the women's hangers for the clothes with straps - for my wife, of course.

Kirby's hangers are excellent. I bought a number of them last year and really like them. The only issue I have is that my wife swiped a bunch of them when I had spares and now I need them back.

Well, this is a good place to lobby Kirby. That is the great thing about a small business. Have you ever tried to reach the buying offices of some of the major retailers? Even with a inside friend to help you, it is a biaaaatch.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
