Tuxedo Shirt w/ Bow Tie

I am wearing a Tuxedo shirt with a bow tie for my wedding (see image). I like everything about the image I submitted, except I want to wear a shirt with buttons (not hidden buttons), but i don't like studs. Can I get away w/ wearing a tuxedo shirt with no studs? I went to GQ and see no studs here...

Perhaps clear studs would be ok or best? Or just regular exposed buttons on the shirt.

I'm not quite clear what you are asking, do you want a black tie shirt with no visible buttons or studs, this is pretty common, or one with visible buttons? If that is the case a lot of better quality shirts intended for use with studs come with a strip of removable buttons. Just leave these in and don't buy studs.

I should imagine Brooks Brothers, and Ralph Lauren shops will carry a shirt that meets your requirements either way.

As you can see from the image, the buttons are hidden. Any suggestions? Actual shirt recs?

The one in the image is likely a fly front. Think fly like on your pants. There are still buttons, but there is a flat layer of fabric on top of the placket. This is acceptable.

What isn't acceptable is getting a shirt meant to have studs and not using them. Also, anyone that has owned a shirt with studs and would see you wearing a shirt meant for studs with the disposable things that come with it and think ill of you (couldn't be troubled, forgot, etc.). If it were me I'd get a pair of classic understated studs. Some of the classic onyx on silver studs are understated and classic for a reason.

I think the consensus from this site is you don't have to wear a waistcoat ior cummerbund f you don't have a big belly and wear a fly front shirt. That jives with the look here

Any thoughts that disagree? If not, I'll just wear the fly front. Thank you.

Instead of black studs you can get mother of pearl studs that are usually worn with white tie:

I prefer these with a Marcella front shirt rather than pleats. Such a shirt would be acceptable with either a turn-down collar or a detachable wing collar though I prefer the former. But it's okay to wear a shirt with normal buttons, but they should be quality mother-of-pearl not plastic. A shirt with normal buttons should have a turn-down collar and pleated front.

Cummerbund really does finish off the look nicely. I ve never paid more than $10 for one.

I dont like exposed buttons on a tuxedo shirt. Never seen a good example. Always do hidden buttons. You can leave off the plysse or marcella but never leave off hidden buttons or "fly front "

I have two evening shirts by Thomas Pink - both marcella bibs with turn down collars. One is made for studs, the other has a fly front. Got them both off eBay BNWT for $45. If you have time I suggest you get looking, there are bargains to be had and if you need a nip or tuck to make them fit perfectly it shouldn't cost you much more.
