I'm enjoying it. Always been a fan of Spoon (though A Series of Sneaks is still my favorite).

I heard Brit is kind of a douche irl. Is this true? I haven't met him.

He was OK. a little quite. I traded a shirt for a slew of tickets. for shows

I am not sure if how all of his new sucess will effect him.

Funny, I was listening to Spoon last night and thinking The Fitted Shirt should be the theme song for SF.

One Day It'll Take
And They'll Start To Make
Shirts That Fit Right
Til Then I Suppose
I Still Got Dad's Clothes
And That's Alright

My friend works for a radio station in Boston and he had to drive them around for a day, he said they were really nice guys. I'm sure everybody has to be a douche to somebody some of the time.

I saw them live two years ago at the 930 club in DC. They were really great. Looking forward to new music.

I met him at a party in Austin. He was a little quiet like shirtmaven said. I didn't think much of the band so I didn't make much of an effort to talk to him at length. I thought it was odd that he was dancing by himself in the kitchen.

I've met him and Jim Eno (the drummer) a couple of times around Austin, and they have always been friendly and more than happy to talk to a fan.

I heard them live at Austin city limits around 6-7 years ago. I loved them from the first song. Went online and bought their CD from their website the same week.
I thought then wow what an original sound and songs they will be a hit one day.
Same thing I thought when I first heard Jeff Buckley at a little club in Boston. I could not believe that such a great musician & singer is not known world-wide. Bought his cassette at the concert. He died 2 years after.

If not for record-companies and payolla, radio could be full of gems like these two guys.

another cool thing about Spoon is that they are very supportive of fans recording their shows and posting them online. A while back sonick posted a link to archive.org's database of uploaded concerts. It was mostly jam bands and hippy dippy crap like that, but sure enough, there was Spoon listed amidst the whole twiddly mess. I appreciate that big time, especially considering the stance many bands take w/r/t their fans accessing the music (cough metallica cough). The fact that Spoon is so down with this made me decide to actually, literally go out and buy the physical CD when its released (I'm not even talking itunes folks, i mean the thing itself). I have't done that since probably Up the Bracket.
