HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

My dear dapper friends, Does anyone know if making the cuff 0.5 inch narrower would lengthen the inseam 1 inch? This is a real brain teaser. I read in more than one post here in the forum that you can lengthen the inseam twice as much as the width of the cuff. Is this because the fabric is...

Lengthening cuffed trousers that were hemmed too short, need advice

Hi there folks, Some of you might have seen my posts in waywrn of how short these trousers turned out after a trip to the tailors. Unfortunately I live abroad and cant take it back to the same tailor. I would need to have the inseam lengthened about 1 or 1.5 inches. The cuff is 2 inches. I...

Me in my (unintentional) high water trousers. Will have to give up the cuffs (or at least 0.5” out of the 2) to fix. Suit is a lamarche ring jacket, tie is a thrifted zegna on ebay, shoes are vintage churchs thrifted in koenji japan. Apols for the low res pics. Im only a graduate student!

I didn't. I ended up going with the 8.5D for the 9697F and just sucking it up. I've added tongue pads and will live with the minor heel slippage. Just thought it was safer than to hope for the 8D shoes to stretch.

This is the other suit i had altered by the “likes trousers too short” tailor. This is me fine dining at mcdonalds after wearing them the first time.

thanks for the replies guys. This is so frustrating, I repeatedly expressed my worry that the trousers would turn up too short and so they did… and this guy is a well regarded tailor!

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Guys, just came back from the tailors. We opted for a no-break, but now I’m regretting not being more conservative and firmer with him (he was adamant we went with a no-break). Are these too short? Should I take 0.5” inch from the cuff, make it a 1.5” cuff and suck it up? Or undo the cuffs and...

Friends, Ive just bought a pair of 9697F in size 8D and I am unsure whether to return them for a size up or not. My Brannock measurement is between 8.5-9. My 975s (Barrie last) are an 8.5D, but I feel like they are a bit too wide. My AE 65 are 8.5E and fit well. In Tricker's stow last I am...

Alden LHS 99162 Loafer Color #8 Shell Cordovan 8.5D

Bought in Japan at Safari #3. Beautiful patina and soles are in great shape (can send photos without the topy). Paid USD 300, but it has a bit too much heel slippage for me. Asking USD 250 shipped Conus to move quickly.
