Totally Agree. Berluti is a big enough company to be able to constantly market its heritage (and perceived prestige) while expanding its huge offering. They may even flex their muscle and copyright the 3 eyelet wholecut design, just like what I heard they did for the term ‘Patina’. For a much...

The bottom two pics are actually from the Trunk Show we did this past May at the Shoe Bar that we also operate (El Gato (ig: elgato_tw) I had a chance to have a side by side comparison with those particular Graziat version of Alessandro (called “Shallow”) and the real Aldessandro. In terms of...

Bonaudo has a massive selection of leathers. Graziat does mainly patina shoes, so they mostly source the blank white leather from Bonaudo (forgot the model name but the same identical one with Berlutti’s Venetian), as well as their Cashmere Suede (also for patina). I believe their standard calf...

Pretty much a yes. But also keep in mind that aside from the actual making, the shoe lasts, design / details, and importantly leather (sourced directly from tanners like Bonaudo) are all provided by Graziat. The end result is pleasantly different from what Xibao makes for themselves or others...

Was an absolute pleasure being on your podcast Jesper! and also thanks for those who listen to this episode! Hope you all are doing better. While I do have a soft spot for Japanese shoes, I have been working ever closer with Chinese shoes lately. Graziat, the Taiwanese brand that I talked...

You have to be there in person to order the handmade shoes from Clematis. I have ordered 2 of his shoes before, and he will measure you up, and adjust the house last where it has to. You have some say in the upper and bottom design too. I believe that Yohei Fukuda RTW production is mainly...

Japanese Shoes: Bespoke & RTW Super Thread

If you really like the look of Yohei Fukuda, then the RTW may be the only viable alternative to his order made shoes. For that price, Clematis’s hand made line is also worth checking out, also no fitting.

Also worth mentioning.. ISETAN MEN’s doesn’t usually offer mirror-shine service, but they do have a nice dedicated shoe bar, where once month, they invite a guest shoeshiner to helm. Past shoeshiners include John Chung (Mason & Smith Singapore) Yuya Hasegawa (Brift H), Ishimi Go and Terashima...

    Japanese Leather Goods/Accessories

They do have a similar feel, very Japanese in design. Obvious difference is that Acate is made in northern Italy (factory not revealed), but the quality is right up there. Color choices are calm and muted, very classy. Apparently they do very well in Japan, and has a dedicated nook at ISETAN...

Brift H cream is Good. Its cream based but has a low viscosity, so quite easy to spread/absorb (think Colonil 1909/Diamant). Although they come at a high price, I swear by it. Another Brift H product thats also good is their High Shine Cleaner. Works like a miracle in removing built-up polish...

ISETAN MEN`S in Shinjuku has a large collection of Bootblack Black Label. Tokyu Hands have the largest selection of shoe care products in general (even has the Brift H products), but they only carry the Bootblack Silver Collection (equivalent to blue Saphir)

    Japanese Leather Goods/Accessories

Hi @bjhofkin A newcomer to the RTW leather bag scene is Acate Borsa. Its a Japanese brand, products are designed by Japanese, but the bags are being made in Italy. In many ways, they resemble SAIC or CISEI (other Japanese brands that are made in Italy). They almost exclusively use shrunken...
