Just made two pair for a client in that cloth.
one with a single pleat and a 5 pocket jean.
Good cloth, a bit heavy and not as supple as I would like.

it's 500g - 17/18oz not too shabby for a pair of jeans
Have something similar from Dugdale's Calvary twill, 21 oz.

Hey Clothers, I'm wondering if there's any cloths that are more suited for tropical weather (Singapore) and regular washing.

I've landed a gig here and even though I don't sweat much, the heat rain, and sweat really take it's toll on my trousers.

Thinking about buying some cloths and have them CMT at a local tailor.

Singapore climate is pretty tough on clothes, I agree! It depends on how formal your dress code is for work I guess, but linen trousers are about as comfortable as you will find. It wrinkles a bit and you would probably be advised to hand-wash them to preserve the waistband , which is not very time consuming really, or dry-clean. Dugdale, J Hanna, Ulster Weavers all have good linen books. A tropical wool like HFW Fresco, Smiths Finmeresco, Dugdale Tropicalair will hold its shape reasonably well and breathe reasonably well, and if you let them dry after use on a hangar and sponge them now and then, you may only have to dry-clean them once or twice a year.

Yeah, there's no way I can do 2 dry clean a year, I have about 5 pairs of trousers and wear a diffrent one everyday.

Dress code for work is not overly formal like trousers and shirts with the occasional jacket, I am thinking a poly/wool blend for washability or straight up cotton.

I am not too fussed with Ironing as I've got an hourly cleaner that also folds and Iron cloths, but telling her not to wash and Iron my dirty trousers just baffles her.

Have anyone come across similar situation ?

I used to live in Singapore, fresco trousers are probably the most comfortable in that weather. Get enough in your rotation so that each is worn once a week, dry clean every 3 months.

If cost is a constraint, look at some washable wool-poly blends, most of the local shops have a few of those. I used to wear those when I just got out of college and couldn't justify the cost of regular dry cleaning, but they're not as cool as high twist wool.

Currently living in Singapore. I tend to stick to cotton linen shirts and a light high twist for trousers (ascot/merino brothers 2 ply work well) for work. If you're thinking about straight up cotton, maybe try an Italian mill that does lighter weight cotton. I've tried brisbane moss and I found it too heavy for the heat and humidity. If you're thinking about trousers you can wash at home, something like the armoury's sports chino works pretty well as its not too thick.

I don't think this has been discussed here, but seems like there's an updated Fox Air bunch coming soon:

Anyone seen this updated bunch in the wild?

And now I’m glad I haven’t started my current commission yet for the FA16.

I wonder if they’re going to put out any new plain browns like the melange

Does anyone have experience of the fox air snagging easily?

Nice large check! Could work as suit or sport jacket.

Not snaggy like a hopsack or mock Leno.

Totally agreed. For me, fa 5. But, that new one looks really nice too. With a Florentine tailor, no dart in the front. Something I’m thinking about. I think it’d be cool as a suit. Maybe it’d be tough to wear for business (but I think tan suits are tough to wear for business anyways).

Singapore resident here. One thing to consider is that if working or going out, long walks outside are uncommon. Inside AC can be brutal, hence in elegant places I even wear a full suit to cover my upper body. I second the high twist and linen, both unlined, as a general recommendation.
