Yes, that's why a gentleman develops his own style and does not follows fashion trends.

I mean yes to following your own style.

My partner showed me a post in insta showing that actually, the "timeless" or "classic style" of the 2000s and 2010s has aged far worse than the more directional/fashiony clothes.

Re: slim fit
I still wear them from time to time, maybe the most dated aspect would be the slimmer lapel and short length. but even during their height I was never really into that look since it does not work with my body type. So I dont own or wear anything extreme. In that sense, yes, a classically proportioned tailoring is timeless, but you will never look ahead of trend at any point of the slim- wide trend pendulum swing.

The only one aspect that is a big no is when the shoulders are slim and narrow but have low armholes. That is uncomfortable as hell. I think those came later when various manufacturers caught up to the slim narrow trend.

That with brown Rancher pants and an ecru shirt would give a killer sleezy 70s vibe.

Definitely just I can’t see myself wearing that to work and weekends is all kid stuff, don’t expect to show up fully pimped on kids birthday party either…
