Hi All,

I'll try to get photos, but right now all I have is measurements. What do you think? Do these make sense (had my g/f measure me) ... I'm 6' 220lbs.

Measurements from my Brooks Bros Slim Fit - 17.5" neck / 34" sleeves (I followed MT's instructions)
Collar - 17.5"
Chest - 25"
Waist - 25"
Hip - 26.5"
Sleeve Length - 24"
Bicep - 9.5"
Cuffs - 9.5"
Yoke - 20"
Shoulder - 7"
Shirt Length - 33"
Arm Hole - 12"

Measurements taken from my body (I followed MT's instructions)
Neck - 18"
Chest - 46.5"
Waist - 42.25"
Hips - 43"
Shoulder - 22"
Sleeve Length - 24.5"
Wrist / Cuff - 8"
Bicep - 15"
Shirt Length - 29"
Arm Hole - 22"

Do any measurements seem way out of whack? The Brooks shirt fits me pretty well, but tight near the button down from the collar button, the sleeves are too short, and the shoulders feel a little tight (perhaps from the short sleeves).

Thoughts and suggestions welcome!

I literally just did my measurements, and my shirt waist across was 4 or 3.5cm shorter than my chest across measurement.

I would stick with the shirt measurements and increase by 0.5" to 1.0" in areas where you think it's too tight. Do not use body measurements when ordering shirts.

If these are the measurements of your best fitting shirts, i.e. the shirts that you like best on you, then I all can suggest is convert to centimeters and subtract 1 or 2 cm. inches will be converted to cm, like the rest of the world uses, and then Modern tailor will make a shirt with a 1 to 2 cm extra allowance as stipulated in their website. Everyone always seems to complain about bigger than expected measurements.

Of course this is assuming you want to maintain the really slim aesthetic of your shirts, if they are of this aesthetic.

I took your advice - added a few cm's where the shirt is too tight or the sleeves are too long. We'll have to see how it looks - it's a waiting game now.

They do have a 1-2 cm tolerance, but my first shirt came out perfect to the dimensions I gave them.

You won't have to wait long, usually it's 10-12 days from ordering to your doorstep.
At least that's how it's been for me.
