Yes, but let us take the instance of two short women fighting, one French, one Italian, they are both beautiful, and on the sideline stands America, a fat women, big even, and she says, "I could win the fight any day, these two midgets" The French and Italian over hear this, and they use their beauty to find 2 muscular men, who then finish off the fat American lady, big is not better.

EDIT: What is even funnier is seeing fat America belly-flop on Iraq.

Yeah, I think that you are letting your imagination get the better of you. Too many years in an all boys public school will do that, I understand.

Of course, if you are a midget, and was offended by my perceived insult towards... the little people, I take that back.

My original point was that both countries suck at fighting, so it's all the more fun to hear representatives of those countries talk smack at one another.

As for women, I call it a tie. I find Italian women more beautiful in general, but French women more... nasty. So it's a toss up. That one is a can't lose though.

ernest, more posts please.

if it didn't say "Patek Phillippe" on it, you wouldn't know it wasn't some cheap POS $5 watch from that era...

That's the interest of the watch = the average Joe thinks it is cheap...

Show me another brand making similar watch for $5...

I can show you hundred of cheap watches which looks like what you like ( Rolex, Breit...). So?

Obviously, if it says Patek Phillippe, it must be no more than $5.

You cant blame a guy for posing a question and then being summarily attacked.
You can if you see Ernest as one gigantic fraud that is taken seriously. Frankly kalra's posts were far more believable then anything that Ernest has said this year.

I can't wait for the inevitable post where he wonders whether he should replace his late model Mercedes Benz 190E (Don't blame him, his dad gave him the old family car.) with a Rolls Royce or a Bentley and you all debate it seriously.

I mean on one hand the RR is ostentatious but is it less so than the Bentley?

That's why you like the watch? Because you want people to think it looks cheap? Whatever floats your boat... why not dress in rags then? (picturing the "Derelicte" campaign from Zoolander)

Have you ever worn a Breitling? You won't get that level of solidity from any cheap watch... BTW, the better replica Rolexes and Breits are >$250...

YOU wouldn't.

Why? Because you do not car about watches and just want to wear a tacky/shiny watch to make think you may have money.

This is not my way of thinking...

Actually, I prefer watches to be aesthetically pleasing, not something that that particular Patek can be accused of under any circumstances.

What is your problem? Jalousy? What is not believable? To have a Patek? Poor you...

ernest,

Obviously you like your watch, that's nice, however, if you post it here asking people's opinions, expect to get their honest opinion, in my opinion, that watch is ugly.

Yes Ernest, I am completely jealous of you. I lie awake at night wondering how I can compete with someone in their late 20s who is on welfare, sponges off his parents and yet apparently maintains a lifestyle that well-off men would be hard pressed to maintain. For the record, I own several antique wristwatches including a Rolex from the early 1970s. I have no need of a watch that makes me look like a French gigolo.

I like the watch because I like the shape and the craftsmanship in it.

I also like the watch because guys like, the average JOE, would think it is cheap and then show their ignorance and poor taste...

You only buy a watch because it looks expensive and solid ?

Are you Rambo ?
I wear my watch in the street, in the office, in the subway so solidity is not the aim when I buy a watch.
What do you do with your watch? Save the world?

I guess a watch of $300 would be prefect for your taste, not necessary a fake of Breit, just another cheap brand like FOssil or Festina which make the same style. You have many watches which are like these you want for just $300. Seiko for exemple.
