Two pieces added to the collection recently, a Patek 3796R and a UG "Evil Nina"

Added a new vintage to the collection recently. Not much of a fan of contemporary Girard Perregaux, as it seems to be only the Laureato and nothing more, except for their weird six-figure price tag watches with turning planets on them and whatnot. But the pre-1980s stuff is pretty cool, classy looking, and well made.

What would be your recommendation from a collectable 'vintage' brand that is affordable (affordable and vintage are pretty loose terms ) most probably mechanical or early quartz that comes in a variety of styles, sizes and functionality. And of course s bit of a conversation piece, so an interesting brand.

Have a couple in mind, but without looking further into them not sure if they would pass my own criteria. So as not to prejudice the jury I'll keep them to myself for the moment.
Lip. They cobranded with bigger brands over the years and had some really funky stuff through the 70's and 80's. Definitely worth a look.

Where do yall take your vintage watches for service? My 80s IWC DaVinci needs a crown replacement. I’m local to Phoenix, but ok shipping it.

Reviving this thread with the Certina Diamaster I wore today.

This is a quartz model, but they come as automatics and with a tuning fork movement as well.

It's a mid-seventies model and it must have seemed very avant-garde at that time: scratchproof tungsten case, integrated bracelet (NSA), quartz movement with hacking, day and date as well as a faceted sapphire crystal. Fantastic watch!
