I'm white trash but no longer poor white trash. I am now rich white trash. Not Duck Fucker rich but I've done pretty well. Probably on par with Pajama Boy who inherited everything he has.

"teaching isn't rocket science. it's harder."

i didn't even read the article, but come on now. I say this as someone with a big amount of respect to teachers.

I think that teachers are subjected to a lot of disrespect that's not warranted, but really, if you want to make a positive case for your profession, you should at least say things that are plausibly true. (I teach at the university level, but I assume the FB poster is talking about teaching at lower levels.)

You could make the argument that rocket science may not be particularly challenging for trained rocket scientists; whereas, many go into teaching wholly unprepared.

both of my parents are adjunct professors, it's def. a ton of work up front. No dobut even more work up front at lower levels.

I wanted to reply with "why be a teacher when you can be an even better rocket scientist", but people were too busy blowing each other and I didn't want to kill the party.

I thought of something like that. I know I'd have a hell of a time teaching young children, for example. But still, not knowing the full context, I think it's going to come off as ridiculous if you just make the blanket statement that your teaching job is harder than rocket science.

I'm dating a neurobiology researcher and her go-to insult is that someone is stupider than a rocket scientist. As someone who falls significantly lower than a rocket scientist on the IQ scale, I try not to repeat the phrase (people in glass houses and all that...)

a bunch of my college classmates did Teach for America, and that seemed like a genuinely tough job. This is a blanket statement, i know, but you're basically taking a bunch of privelaged white ivy leaguers and throwing them into inner city schools to "go teach" for two years in exchange for awesome exit opportunities. That did not seem easy.

My go-to insult is "that person is stupider than a guy what wears a pocket square (pochette) that is too close in color and pattern to his necktie or who got dimples at the armscye!"

The only rocket scientist I know personally is a high school dropout, ex meth user who got married as a teenager to a wife who used to abuse him in their trailer.

He's one of the coolest, kindest, smartest guys I know, and his life story is fascinating.

Rocket science is pretty easy actually.

My friend and I did a rocket science project in middle school...totally rocked it. I've since moved on to more challenging endeavors.

Also, once in 9th grade science, we had to design a space station (I can't remember what the real parameters were...it was probably more involved than "draw a space station").

I pirated some 3D modeling software and made a baller station....what the teacher never caught on to (or was unwilling to bring up, thinking it was just a result of his own perverted imagination) was that my space station was designed to look like titty-fucking. There was a flesh colored shaft (complete with a head) running in between two big circles with pink dots suspended in their centers.
