Where would you guys suggest I start if I am looking for a very specific year vintage rolex (1980). Condition is not as important. Any good websites specializing in vintage rolex?

whats the mm measurement on that AP ROO T3?

47mm!

But, it's for AHNOLD!

Here's AH-NOLD doing a "modified Frills pose" (bawhawhawhaw) with a printed shirt that Keith T would surely appreciate. And a Rolex on his wrist. Boom!

And that BELT BUCKLE - surely SF-approved!

Timzone.com or rolexforums.com.

If you do not want to deal with a forum, try hqmilton.com. Jacek knows his stuff.

Beware that many vintage Rolex watches have been severely molested. They may come with parts that are not correct for the time period, some of which, like date dials, will be a dead give away to anybody who knows anything about Rolex.

Finally, always buy a seller, not a watch.

15202ST would really be a great companion piece to my PP 5711/1A.

The watches above do not deserve to be mentioned in the same thread as the pic below

I do respect AP, but they have been pooping our some scarrry shizzznit lately.

OMG that Governator pic is so full of win!

In my mind he's wearing a pair of white leather tennis shoes underneath.

Like some 90's-era Nike cross-trainers.

Good advice from papa kot on the vintage Rolex sourcing....those sellers have good reps in the community, esp. Jacek.
Happy hunting.

wurger, I like that off-white/cream looking dial on your Longines....amps up the overall vintage looks. Wondering if you've ever tried it on a lighter colored strap? I think that would be extra sweet on a honey croc.

mMontebello, nice Daytona. Great all-around watch.

To be honest, I actually don't know how to change of strap myself... :embar: so I haven't.

Even though it is a dark brown, in normal light it does appear lighter, and contrasts well with the white stitchings.

^^ More simpler-is-better action from Rolex. This (with no date), no-date oyster, or the perfectly sized 39mm Explorer 1? And there's the Daytona of course. Has to be at least one of them, sooner or later...

Thanks for the Piaget pic, Keith! I think I like the back better than the front, though. Not a lover of skeletons, really. Even cool platinum ones with awesome micro-rotor backside action.

As for you and your nonsense, Frilly, imagine how many "special" Graham Chronofighters you could buy for that. ;)

Honestly, that is the only watch that would district me from Patek and AL&S in that price range, other than some indies.

In my opinion, one of the most gorgeous watches I have ever seen. It would be a completely emotional purchase, but damn, that watch is just gorgeous.

I love the sight of the balance wheel sneaking out from the back.

Love this watch. Do not like the Piaget branding on the dial. Yep its a dealbreaker for me

Really? For some reason or another, I really don't mind the Piaget branding on it. The fact that it is on the rotor makes it pretty unobtrusive to me. It is fairly large though!

It definitely could have been done more discretely though...

My old Longines has a fixed bar I do not know if this model is the same.
