Does anyone know what's the deal with the Mk.VII sizing?
Looking here and the 34 fits like a big 36, 36 like a 38, etc.. is it just super oversized?
I wouldn’t say they’re oversized at all. I have the MKI cord and the mkvII tweed and they’re very comparable. The tweed has a bit more structure and is slightly more tailored, but generally the fit is the same. I went TTS with my MKVII and can wear a shirt and Shetland underneath comfortably, which is what I’d want with a thicker tweed blazer.

This being said, I generally wear more relaxed clothes, so if you’re used to slimmer fits they might feel more relaxed to you.

Also went to the NY archive sale this morning. A good selection of linen sartorial jackets. A smaller selection of tweeds. For games, lots of gray tweed, green tweed, and navy moleskins. The only corduroy games I saw were navy and black, except for a single 40 jacket in a cold darker brown. Impressive selection of shawl cardigans, mostly cream and black. Some misc outwear: puffers, ripstop. Lots of jersey too: rugby shirts, cotton quarter zips, t-shirts, etc. Lots of shirts and ties in unusual, but occasionally charming, patterns.

Walked away with three rugby shirts, a green turtleneck, a navy silk-linen herringbone blazer, and a striped linen pajama set.

Rocked a striped suit, shirt, and tie at dinner the other day (all Drake's):

Another NYC Sample Sale review:

Showed up post-lunch around 1PM. Left side as you walk in there's a ton of rugbys, fleece, a handful of random chores, and some RMFB items. I saw the Saint John's pinstripe chore in a 40 which I had my eye on but was a tad too small for me. Knitwear was scattered about on a few shelves in the back. Really not a good look for patrons, if you unfold a sweater it takes just as much time to fold it back but everything was thrown about and tangled up from people looking for sizes.

Then tailoring on the right side, mostly last season's spring/summer collection. In the middle were the usual bins of shirts, ties, and sweatshirts. I was a little bummed as most of the sizes for the sweatshirts were either Small or XXL and I really wanted to pick up an XL quarterzip.

Overall, I didn't find the selection that much different than any of the other sample sales I've been too. Decent selection but prices aren't any different than buying secondhand off your preferred resale platform. That being said, I mostly buy Drake's casual and workwear over tailoring so a little secondhand patina doesn't bother me that much. If you're looking for tailoring or ties, worth stopping by.

Anyone find it curious that some of the chamula "expressly for drake's" knitwear is somehow cheaper than the exact same item sold by chamula themselves? Like the iconic flag sweater. Somehow the drake's version is almost 100 dollars cheaper than the original? I don't know who is doing the pricing math at drake's but this is the only time I've seen msrp go lower?
