^^^ From your perspective, which is more chiseled, Vass U or Tg73?

Nice combo BTW Roger. Personally, I'd say the TG73 is more chiseled since the flat surface is wider compared to that of the U. The toe box of the TG73 is lower than the U which makes it look more aggressive.

For reference:
TG73 = 6.5E
U = 40
888 = 6.5E
724 = 6F

The U last looks quite rounded in comparison to the TG73 last, less tapered too. I think I will be quite pleased with the U last, seeing as I love the TG73...

U last definitely looks less chiseled than the TG73 in my eyes. The entire forefoot of the TG73 looks much more angular (both sides of the toe box appear to be straight lines vs. the U which is a touch round) that may lend to it appearing more chiseled.

My Wigmores are on the TG73 and they feel both narrower through the forefoot and more chiseled through the toe box than the Vass U. I love the look of the TG73, but the ideal fit for me there would be going up in width, whereas a standard width Vass U works just fine.

^That is hopeful news for me, as I get a good fit from the TG73 in a double wide. So hopefully a double wide U will work just fine...

@Fred G. Unn - those look terrific - I just love that shade of suede, and a very nice pairing with the grey flannel. How is the fit and what are your impressions of the quality of the suede?

Reason I ask the latter question is that over on the shoe care thread, someone posted pics of some pretty rough-looking suede on a brand new pair of Vass (don't know where purchased, but the shade looks similar to yours). I've never seen the like on a pair of Vass.

Yeah, I saw those shaggy Vass on the other thread. Those seem to be an anomaly for Vass and I certainly don't have any complaints about mine. The suede all seems to be excellent, and the construction is top notch. They fit well, but I did have to size up in the U last. I tried a 43 (my P2 size) and it was way too tight, so I went up to a 43.5 in these.
