Just ordered this as a Summer DJ with shawl lapel from the Piacenza Alashan Breeze book. Will probably do covered buttons in the same cloth; can always switch them out for Mother of Pearl down the road. If this performs anything like the sportcoat I got from this book a few months ago (same book, slightly different mix of cashmere/silk/linen), I’ll be thrilled. Cloth reads as a very light grey to me.

The weather in NYC remains cool and dry, and it's now evening (well, at least it's dark outside). I've changed clothes for the evening, for the meeting of the Sartorial Club at the penthouse showroom for Cad and the Dandy. The requested theme of the evening is "creative black tie", and after the third or fourth acquaintance asked, "You're wearing the peacock jacket, aren't you?" I guess I had to give in. With such a piece, everything else had to be fairly neutral (save for the braces and the socks, neither of which are seen very much). We shall see if this outfit is considered acceptable, or that I'm drummed out of the club on my maiden voyage.

Jacket - New & Lingwood
Shirt & trousers - Ede & Ravenscroft
Vintage bow tie & cummerbund
Stud set - The Persian Shop (custom made)
Shoes - Magnanni, via Saks Fifth Avenue
