Thrift fit today... Horrible pics, sorry. iPhone doesn't understand that dark things are SUPPOSED to be dark. Feedback and suggestions welcome. I've been trying to figure out good ways to wear these blackwatch flannel vintage BB pants...
Navy wool shawl cardigan, J Crew from Mainy
Navy checked OCDB, Brooks Brothers, thrifted by me
Burgundy linen tie, PRL from 330ck
Blackwatch flannel pants, BB thrifted NWOT by me
AE shell cordovan Cambridge from Patrologia

Also threw on the Oxxford overcoat Guitar Preacher proxied for me last year

Nice. On the iPhone pics, try tapping on a lighter-colored portion like your shirt or face. It'll focus and adjust the exposure to the brightness of that area, and leave the cardigan dark. Then you can go in with an editor and bump up the brightness and contrast if it comes out too dark to see details.

It's a used coat and used clothes are worth next to nothing which is why they sell them in thrift shops for poor people. It's worth what you paid for it.

Haven't got them yet, my guess they will be in today. Looking forward to it!

Have you been tracking them? lol

Off to take part in democracy, but first, a thrift fit.
Vintage DB herringbone top coat by a local defunct mens haberdashery
Vintage brown label Chap's (that's right, Chaps, man can't live in Brioni alone) OCBD probably from the 70's, made in the USA
Tie ditto
Unknown cashmere sweater, color is eggplant
Levis cords, not thrifted
Vintage cashmere sport coat, unknown maker, 3 roll 2 with the softest of shoulders
Coach braided leather belt
socks, target
AE Cambridge in shell cordovan from Tonylumpkin

Quick question for you Filson experts - if a jacket is tagged a 16, is that certainly womens? It looks like mens, but Im not sure. The model number is 83W, if that helps...
yes its woman's, but none of the mens cuts are too flattering , so the woman's cut might be more slimming.

Ok, let's give this a try:

All of yesterday's talk about hf boardroom suits (ok, like three posts, but that'd be a lot in almost any other thread) makes this apt.

Vintage hf boardroom. Fall winter wool, tight pinstripe, single breast, single vent, flat front. Full canvas (feels like, anyway). Half lined jacket. Incredibly well constructed and fits me well, so it makes a great travel suit (I.e., I don't care if it gets folded to hell and stored in luggage for days, or if it got lost/stolen by tsa). All thrifted, btw. Shirt is CT black label bought on Ebay; shoes are TBNY, thrifted by me.

By the way, I'm well aware that I've committed at least three cardinal sins here (suit without tie, no square, slip ons with suit). My adversary will be in jeans, and I need to go through security later tonight. So this was a compromise with life. No apologies! (No, seriously; I apologize and repent).

And, yes, my BB takes crappy pictures.

Edit: Redid the pics so the orientation is correct. Sorry.

After meditating on Rainier to contemplate my supreme noobishness, I again broached the domain of the thrift gods...

successfully!

Luciano Barbera Collezione Sartoriale blazer, PURE CASHMERE :)

All of the stitching actually is done by hand. Shame my camera isn't good enough to pick up on it.

Killin it man. Killin it.

You're on a streak.

I need to get out there soon, its been days.

Hey guys, been reading the forums for awhile and finally got out to get some things myself.  Found this Valentino this afternoon for $7.99.  I remember reading something about some of them being better than others because of when/who made them.  From what I can recall, which may be totally wrong, they were made at the same place as some Armani stuff.  Ive attached a pic of the label.  Not sure why the close up pic makes it look so grey.  Any information would be great as im trying to learn as much as I can.
Thanks

I have this exact suit here, half canvassed made by Cantarelli I believe. Not a bad pickup, if mint shape, should get 50 - 70bucks or so on the Bay. Being ventless would be the biggest issue moving it. I have had mine for a year now and decided rather than sell it, use it as a beater suit. Actually, to be perfectly honest, it is laying at bottom of a cardboard box waiting for me to eventually pull it out and offer to someone for $10.

This suit is made by Gruppo GFT.
