Those are very nice although (and I guess in keeping with themes of not loving Alden's calf) they make me shake my head and wish they were natural CXL.

Looking for a Shell Chukka in something other than #8. I heard Alden DC had some Cigar but I am sure they are all spoken for by now. I was lucky to get the Ravello LWB Waterlock sole. Man what a nice comfortable ride that double waterlock is.... Smooth...

I got on both those Alden DC lists several months ago and, when the call came for the chukkas (at least a month or two ago) I was driving in heavy traffic and -- obviously not thinking clearly -- declined based on the price and generally not feeling any love for chukkas (so whomever got the 10.5D -- you're welcome). Thankfully, I came to my senses and went ahead with the Ravello LWB order, which is due to arrive TOMORROW.

Sorry to hear about the Chukkas. Somehow my pair did not get made, so I am in the queue for the next run, whenever that may be. Good thing I am in no hurry. But, fortunately you just got Alden's best shoe, their Ravello LWB.

Amen. The natty CXL Indy/NST is much nicer than I thought.

Ugh that pains me - those are fantastic...

While your collection may not be the most extensive on this thread, not sure there is another collection I would prefer to have over yours. Bravo, my friend!

Thanks Mike. Honestly it was also the width issue - I'd rather have a 10.5C, especially in a chukka. I suppose I could've bought & tried them. We'll see what happens with the D width Ravello longwings.

NRO seems to have C width chukkas (1339 & 1340) on their site right now, which I'm really tempted to try. As far as I know, those are stock shoes, not normally available in C widths.

Also, I fell victim to the "just didn't get made" scenario recently too - long wing #8 with natural edge. Ordered C width, paid in full in advance, waited 8-9 months and finally noticed the makeup appearing on SF. I contacted the retailer and they asked me to supply them with my receipt, which I did, whereupon I got the sheepish "ah, your order wasn't entered properly."
