These were a special model with a RUBBER sole that seemed to be attached to a leather sole. You couldn't tell from the top that they were rubber.

A lot of discussion about Dovers yesterday so I figured I would wear and post my black ones from Alden DC
About 15 wears in. I guess there is slightly more creasing than a lined pair, but nothing that noticeable. Super comfortable and lightweight (almost too lightweight for the cold weather). Smaller and sleeker shoe that probably goes better with suits when all is said and done. However on Monday I wore my 990s with slacks and a blazer and then changed into jeans and a sweater after work to go to dinner and kept the 990 on - I think the traditional PTB works better for that transition, especially in the fall. Decisions decisions...
nephew, wear only in good healthI've finally started wearing my 990s around the house to break them in. Sad part is I bought them in person at TSM on 07/30 and am still just getting around to wearing them. The odd part is the shell on the left seems thinner than the shell on the right. Doesn't matter though...I love them. #8 is King!
