****! What have I done???

My oldest workhorse Ravello PTBs After a little Reno/Deerbone treatment.
Is there a way to remove the Black stains?

In my experience, ravello is prone to these kind of black "stains" over time. I had a pair of ravello PTBs and a pair of ravello tassels that ended up looking exactly like this after heavy wear. The shoes seem to darken a bit in the creases. I would just wear them to see if they even out. The staining doesn't look bad to me in the photo you posted (the shoes still look very good IMO).

The darkness should fadevas the liquid is absorbed by the Shell.

Ha, as pepper said, business rules make Shell much more appealing to me. I have to wear slacks most days and I prefer the formality of Shell with slacks.

Interesting. Do you wear your lighter colored shell to work? Or your chunkier/brogued styles? I'm in a "smart business casual" environment, which I interpret to be a suit without a tie. The only pair of shell I wear into work are my C&J Dark Brown (ahem, Cigar) derbies. I certainly wouldn't wear my C&J whiskey Cheviots. I'm awaiting a pair of #8 LWB from AoM with antique edging, which I feel might only make them work appropriate on Fridays. Perhaps its a west coast/east coast cultural difference?

Thanks, Mike. @tifosi

In other news, I'm surprised that we haven't seen a flood of Whiskey LWBs hitting eBay at double the retail price yet...

Over the years, I've owned a number of cordovan bluchers (cigar, ravello, color 8 / antique, etc). Very few few of them fit with my work wardrobe. I could only wear them on Fridays and on weekends, so I ended up selling most. I had and sold a color 8 LWB with antique as I couldn't really wear it with any of my work clothes. The cordovan bluchers I feel work well with suits are the 975/9751, 990/9901 and Ralph Lauren's Marlow wingtip. Also Aberdeen NST.

My most worn cordovan Alden models are sleeker versions like the 9070, 9016, 684, 4065. I am wearing my whiskey monk straps with a suit during the summer, which I feel works very well. If you look at what mdubs actually frequently, it's models like the color 8 fullstrap, balmoral wingtip, captoe balmorals, etc - business cordovan models.

Thanks guys! Wasn't sure if Alden did any further coloring on cordovan, hence the question.

PS Prepster that is a beautiful shoe! Will post some better pics of mine after brushing out the shell bloom.
Many thanks my friend. Enjoy that blucher! (btw, what last is that on?)
