Can't decide which of the 2 M.A.+ leather jackets to buy. I like both of them a lot but can't spend money on 2.

Not at all. Just pointing out that the two items are totally incongruous.

I think something at least vaguely inspired by a traditional leather jacket style would be a better choice if you're at all into the Americana look. Brands such as Incarnation, Wjk or Attachment might be a good place to start. Look to posters like nicelynice for ideas on how to mix denim and aggressive leather jackets like that.

Definitely the first pair, but you're going to have to polish them to make them black. Not that the hints of brown are bad.

edit- actually the brown soles bring my opinion of them down quite a bit, especially as "go to" black derbies.

The dark green versions of the first pair are really nice, but I'd say wait it out a bit. Moma derbies pop up on yoox pretty often and I've seen lots better than both of those.

those second ones have the potential to be pretty awesome. the sole is almost creeper-like. first are aiiight. i usually like contrast natural soles with black shoes, but the mottled uppers aren't doing it for me
