While results will vary, I'm hard put to think of trouser colours I wouldn't wear with that jacket. Since it's a summery fabric, just don't go too dark. Otherwise, just throw anything at it you can think of and make your decision what you like to wear best with it from there.

Nope as a no go, I wouldn't wear that.
I mean, too many lines around, feels like a walking Tetris and I wouldn't want people to be dizzy about my look.

Absolutely. Nothing wrong with stripes and checks. It would look great with a solid tie or one with a very small scale pattern.

On the flip side, a check shirt, especially if the scale is too large, makes for a "Holy sh*t, that's a lot of checks. Checks everywhere!" look.

Trying to figure out what I'm wearing to a friend's wedding. The ceremony is to occur at 3p on a Sunday. Wearing a charcoal suit, white shirt, and black oxfords. I'm familiar with traditional wedding ties (e.g., shepherds check, houndstooth, glen plaid, macclesfield), but want to see what other options could work. I'm going for something elegant, understated, and appropriate, but with some personality. I have a particular tie I’m leaning towards, but want to source additional opinions. Thoughts on the attached? Ignore the pocket, as it’s just a placeholder. Your feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks for chiming in. I'm leaning toward something with a bit more contrast, so while I'd go for the plaid with a navy suit, with charcoal I'll go in another direction.

I think charcoal and plaid tie looks great.
