So, ever since I posted my imgur album on reddit's menswear section, it somehow managed to collect over 40,000 views. Crazy. That place might be a stultifying cesspit, but it gets mad volume.

It's 98F, and for some reason I started thinking about knitwear already. I'm thinking of trying Howlin' by Morrison this AW.

how is that compassion? i'd be compassionate if something happened to synth (god forbid), but.. nothing did. i just don't understand the logical progression from 'he hasn't posted on sf for a few days' = 'something horrible, horrible happened!'

I dunno man, it's just kind of easy and mean to call someone out for "caring too much," or something. And, unless I'm conveniently forgetting something, I don't remember reading any fever-pitch posts from mikey about the general welfare of another user. I just don't see how it's worth being snarky about.

Holy ****, are you me? :uhoh:

I'd be interested to know how you came across the bolded works; I've never met anyone IRL who've read these, especially the Roussel. (I did get into an argument w/ Blake Butler about Infinite Jest once, on his web site. That was cool. )

Great list. Going to seek out the ones I haven't read.

^nerds unite :)

it doesn't matter because we're all doomed anyway

i think i'm legitimately too scared to read this :foo: learned about global warming since i was in 6th grade and and repeatedly baffled by how many politicians, some talk show hosts, and even some posters in CE :brick: won't even admit there is global warming, and if they do admit, it is merely "climate change" AKA who knows what these numbers could really mean and **** you al gore for creating the biggest conspiracy known to mankind

Wait. What. What kind of argument did you get into about Infinite Jest?

In any case, going to look into Blake Butler; the description on Wikipedia sounds interesting:

"This artfully crafted, stunning piece of nontraditional literature is recommended for contemporary literature fans looking for something out of the ordinary. Butler integrates unusual elements into his novel, such as interview-style monologs and in later chapters poetry-like stanzas. Also recommended for students of literature, psychology, and philosophy, as the distinctive writing style and creative insight into the minds of one family deserve analysis."

I bought two of their sweaters this past season. They're nice; I think you'd like them.
