Definitely pricey, but in line with what Ashland Leather charges for a Horween shell wallet. I'd assume quality is similar.
My journey in early 2023 was a bit of an epiphany. Finding that I preferred a half a size down in the Islay, over what was already excellent in my OG size 9’s… but it started with the wayward, weird, things not feeling right in the 335 Skye… I’d never have gone down the rabbit hole otherwise. It’s a journey worth getting right. This was a comforting post. I am beginning the same journey and really investigating my fit which has led me to just give up on the 325 although there are many styles that I really like and I own three shoes in it.
It is the Islay that fits my feet really well also. After two months of experience it surprises me how good it feels. I tested in the C&j Brussels store (really nice service btw.) to still go down half a size to get it even more snug and it seemed to work. If I decide to go for another Islay (or maybe Kelso) it will be half a size down.
I am sure the C&J quality will be amazing. I tried their belts and they are beautiful if I wear a belt with tailored trousers (which is all too rare)…
