Getting married in October and looking for a new suit for my rehearsal dinner.

I am thinking navy blue, pinstriped with a waistcoat. Something like Bond wears in the final scene from Casino Royale. Don't want to spend more than a G.

Suggestions? Oh, yeah, I wear a 38S.

Well, if you want to go with something like Bond wears and want to spend less than 1k, you might as well go with the Baron Boutique replica of that suit for well under 1k.

I'm not sure where you could find a quality 3 piece suit of that type for under 1k but I have seen brooks brothers golden fleece Blue chalk stripe in a two button double breasted as well as a variety of other golden fleece suits all on sale for $498. You have to go into the store to find them though and if they dont have them in your size you can ask them to do a national inventory search for it. However, most of the suits on sale are made from heavier wools, so if you're looking for something light its not ideal.

Also, if you live in the NY area, century 21 is selling a nice hickey freemen 2 button single breasted blue pinstripe suit for also in the $500 range.

Just to let you know, i did find a 3 piece blue or grey pinstripe at brooks brothers for well under 1k, but it is made from a heavier wool so i'm not sure if that matters to you.

The only thing I can think of is JCPenney's Special Order book, and I don't even know if they have that any more. They were fused suits, but they weren't bad quality for the price and came in some decent fabrics. They were in the $400-700 range if memory serves, and a vest could be ordered as an extra (not in all fabrics) for not too much more. Might be worth checking out.

Hart Schaffner's MTM program could meet your requirements. The "fused suits are from the Devil" crowd would hate it, but I've never had a problem with them.

Check out the Polo Bleecker line which has a few three pieces each season and at 40-60% off would come in under a grand. It runs short and trim so a 40R might work for you.

mytailor.com will make you a three-piece for about that price point.
