For what it's worth, I think the main problem with the Londoner (and the English and others as well) is that the (front) collar band is too low resulting in various problems with and without tie. Read: it should be ~1.25 inches.

Does Proper Cloth ever do runs of Madras? I love their selection, but I want to branch out from the usual light-blue shirt.

In my profile picture I'm wearing a pink & blue madras they had a couple of runs of two years ago (there was also a yellow-er variant). It's a fantastic fabric - I hope they bring it back.

I generally go with some type of Roma collar (I think there are now 3 versions) because of this. I would also like it if more collars had a little more height in the front but I have long neck. I think it's partly related to how long your neck is and how high you want the collar to stand above the lapels of a jacket.

That shirt looks awesome! I'm surprised they don't do more runs. I feel like it would be a very popular option with their customer base.

For dress/work shirts, does anyone else pair a soft collar with stiff cuffs?

I have that combinations for some of my shirts, but was wondering if it was too conceptually contradictory...

Doesn't really matter that much to be honest. Most people won't be staring at your cuffs.

I'd feel safe betting that you'd be the only one to a) recognize the dissonance and b) care in the slightest.

I have an Oxford shirt with a Soft Roma and regular (not sure if counts as stiff?) cuffs...wouldn't think twice about ordering in the same makeup.

Hey guys, I've switched from a president spread to a Colorado button-down. The button down seems to lay differently on the beck... as if it wants to conform to the shape of the neck rather than spread away from it. For some reason it feels like the collar is too big when in button-down mode. Should I shorten the caller for the next run?. I don't plan on buttoning the top one. Pics http://imgur.com/a/avNZG

Has anyone mailed them an existing shirt? And can they copy (willing?) the collar?

I have one shirt id send in for measurements and another shirt because the collar is flawless, so a hybrid pattern based on these two.

Curious how long this process would take.

No experience, so can't say for certain, but I would guess that is not an option/offering.

While I'm a big PC fan, I have not found their flexibility to be anything to tout.

I know you can send in for measurements, but I don't think they'll replicate collars. You'll have to go with something they offer.

I'm guessing it's your second picture that highlights best the issue you speak of – that the collar doesn't really touch your neck. Did you by accident change the neck back/forward settings? Switching to a BD collar alone ideally shouldn't have thrown things out of whack.

On a separate note, any chance of getting a foresty, deep green for the heavy oxford series? @ccallis

Yeah, neckback due to bulge behind neck when top button is done. I can un-do it if I dont plan on buttoning the top. I read on PC that unbuttoned collars look better .25 shorter than the buttoned up shirt profile.
