I am thinning out my collection since I became jaded by this thread and picked up 6 new watches in the last 6 weeks. I am selling this Nivada aquamatic. Any ideas on the value? Kinda of a cool watch but small case diameter 32mm.

Do you guys have any tips for fishing vintage pieces? What are the best reliable sources? Are there any watch - only commerce websites for buy / sell / trade?

Here are the sites I check regularly (some more budget-friendly than others):

http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/chronotrader/index.cgi?md=index
http://www.theoandharris.com/
http://www.watchsteez.com/
http://www.luxuwrist.com/
http://watchestobuy.com/

http://www.classicwatch.com/
http://www.europeanwatch.com/
https://bulangandsons.com/
http://www.analogshift.com/
http://www.matthewbaininc.com/

Also check chrono24 and the 'bay. Private sellers (as opposed to dealers) are generally cheaper, but as the saying goes, "Buy the seller, not the watch."

With Seiko you can always find an interesting model for a low price, and the quality is always great for the price.

New addition to the (very small) collection - really enjoying it and had not heard of Rodina until reading this thread, so thanks all.

Wowsers - I thought that Steinhart was pretty blatant in their "homages" but that Rodina is simply a direct copy of a Nomos Tangente.

I like to call it a consequence of finding Styleforum after having 3 kids, but yes....

There's lots of well designed non-homage watches out there (Orient Bambino, Seiko SKX007 and Orient Mako come to mind).

Thanks for showing me those Oli2012 - really like the look of the Seiko and the Orient Mako and I don't have a divers watch - I can see this watch game getting a bit addictive......

No problem. Here's some other good budget watches - Seiko SNK809, Casio G-Shock 5600/6900, Seiko Monster, Vostok Amphibia, Timex Weekender
