Sorry for adding another one to the pile, but here it is:

I've got a pair of flat fronts that are slightly too long and I've realized there's enough material to put a cuff in on them. My question is fairly simple...are the cuff's sort of just folded over (I'm guessing they'd need to be steamed to stay), or are they sewn in place? I know mafoofan's got those fancy buttoned ones, and I think I can do that on my own, but generally speaking, just folded or held in place by thread?

They are usually folded, then creased, then tacked with thread at the inseam and outseam. If you look at a cuffed pair somewhere you'll see how it's done.
