I used to have two tweed champs that I used as bookends in my office

Never heard a Standel amp, but I'm always on the lookout for a Concert for Bangladesh style maple-backed Standel acoustic.
I'm also considering looking at tweed champs for that Layla sound. My favorite that I had a chance to play was a '55 wide panel Super. Didn't get a chance to crank it but the cleans were fat and lovely.
I basically have a '61 Jazzmaster to trade for the best dirty rhythm amp I can find - that's my next score.

Classical guitar is proving to be equal parts rewarding and frustrating. My teacher must be going insane at all the different kinds of cues and tips for hand positioning he has given me because I'm having a terrible time getting a good tone from the index finger on my picking hand. Its coming along, but still. Just started digging into the pre-Grade 1 material... pretty newbie stuff for sure, but I want to drill proper technique before I start getting ahead of myself.

I built my first effects pedal today! A Fuzz Factory clone. Sounds pretty good! Need to box it still, but a good experience!

The problem is I pretty much have all the pedals I could ever want... however, I do have my mind set on woodworking some sort of Cornish-style effects looper with some built in buffers and if I can get it to work, big soft buttons.

It's really easy, though luckily I have a friend who does it too and he understands all of it better than I do, so he gave me some help.

i am because I'm a Fender guy. That's all. pB is a Gibson guy.



i'm always wary of amp companies that come out with these technical guitars that are meant to mimick the sounds of guitars from guitar companies.

current gibsons are meh. decent i guess, but a FAR cry from the old ones. I will say that i loved my newer SG.

i really wish they offered the VT80 without all the knobs and effects....if it only had a volume and a tone knob, id be all over it for a practice amp.

I'm pretty sure you can bypass all the bells and whistles. If I finally work myself up to buying something part of the reason I'm picking it is for all those bells and whistles. Won't have to buy a bunch of pedals and I won't have to figure out how to tailor the sound I want. Perfect thing for a noob and I can spend my time figuring out thing like ho to play a drop D tuning instead.
