just started re-watching the series. now that i've seen it all already, ive noticed an excellent amount of foreshadowing that makes little sense in the episode, but in the context of the series, its quite good. prime example: when we first meet dany, she gets into a bath of boiling water as a maid exclaims "its far too hot!" however, she just sits in it with no visible reaction. fast-forward to the ending scene of the series...

Lol no ****.I never read the books but clearly someone entering a bath of boiling hot water and not feeling a thing must mean something.

yeah that was pretty obviously a clue. I didn't know what it meant at the time but it was fairly conspicuous.

not having read the books, i'd thought there should've been at least a battle scene when Rob fucked up the Lannister's army. Was this because of budget issues?

Nobody but Peter Dinklage got nominated for an Emmy. Fuckin bullshit. My ***** Ned ain't gonna win.

to be fair, he's been playing that role his entire career.

I may not be remembering the book quite right...but since the first book does not actually have any chapters from the POV of either Rob or Jamie, there would not have been a narrator present to provide a first person account of the battle.

The book does provide a little more detail on exactly what went down and how they managed to succeed but the first book really didn't have any big battle scenes (Tyrion misses all of his battle in his own chapter)
