Monday's episode is really good. I'm liking it now that the super-people are interacting with each other more (even if they don't really know it yet).

Save the cheerleader, save the world!

I was into the "Peter will become Sylar" theory but it's maybe more likely that Mohindar becomes Sylar (?)...and Claire's dad might really be a good guy, as he says he is....after all the only person he was acted malevolently towards was Mohindar while in his taxi.....maybe he knows something about Mo that we don't.

I read that the writers planned to end this story arc by episode 13, since they didn't know if the show would get renewed (which it has)...so it sounds like they'll at least solve the "stop the nuclear holocaust of NYC" storyline midway through the season before getting deeper into some other arc.

Does anybody else feel like this series is moving a bit too slow? Perhaps I just have a short attention span for television shows.

I was thinking about when Hiro approached Peter on the train, and said that "you look different without the scar" and was speaking perfect english, etc. That HAD to have been from further ahead in the future than 5 weeks. Therefore we already know that at least Hiro survives the impending NYC explosion (assuming that he's there to stop it or whatever, and not at LV shopping for a rhinestone katana or whatever).

Mohinder would be an interesting Sylar, but he would have had to hide his identity from his own father, seeing as Mohinder sr. and Sylar had met before the story began.

What I'm wondering about is Nikki's son. BOTH his parents have "abilities" so it might stand to reason that the kid can do something too. I wonder what it is, because we haven't seen it yet.

I dunno, it has its slow moments. To me, shows like CSI and Law and Order, etc. seem muuuuch slower, because I don't give a damn about the outcome.

I agree with TS, I really enjoyed the heroes interacting in this last episode - things are finally coming together. The pacing's probably a little slower than your average drama, but I think it works - it's got me watching, at least.

I bet it's technical - building machines, or communicating with technology, or something like that.

Ah, no wonder the city explodes, then.

A person on Televisionwithoutpity.com theorized that the kid's ability could be knowing whether someone was being honest -- for example, there's been a few scenes where the kid protests his dad's innocence, his skeptical view of his mom's "I need to go take care of something" and knowing what she really does for a living -- I can sort of see that. Not a great superpower, but definitely useful.

And Nick, excellent call on Peter Petrelli's power.

Something to look out for. I hear that Richard Roundtree (yes, SHAFT!) is going to make a guest appearance in episode seven.

I was thinking too, that when Hiro said "Be the one we need"... it was a little weird. Like there would ultimately be some choice to be made of whether Peter would help everyone else or allow them to come to harm. I dunno, it just sounded strange.

To further my crazy idea that Peter is somehow also Sylar:
What if Peter absorbed Niki's power? Would he then have a dangerous "alter ego" that would share his absorptive abilities? HMMMM?????

I started watching, largely on the strength of this thread and the fact that there happened to be a Heroes marathon last Sunday.

- I think Nikki's alter ego is violent and unscrupulous, but not malicious.
- Peter may ultimately be the one who has to take on Sylar since his ability to take on the powers of others may make him the only one powerful enough to match up one one one.
