I will be attending an event in Palm Beach over the weekend. I need some advice on what the best combination would be for my attire.

What's in the image:

Shirt: David Chu, button down collar, blue/white gingham
Pants: Facconable, navy with subtle orange windowpane
Blazer: Banana Republic, tan cotton, 2-button single breasted, double vented
Tie: E. Zegna, navy w/ orange and white
Shoes: A. Edmonds Slayton, chilli
Belt: Brooks Brothers, chilli
Pocket Square: Robert Talbott, white orange and blue gingham check

The questions are as follows: For a S. Florida evening, is a tie overkill? Should I forgoe the wool slacks in favor of tan cotton slacks (making the blazer into a suit)? The Facconable slacks do happen to be very lightweight. Pocket square with tan blazer, yes or no? If wearing tan slacks with this outfit, would navy socks be appropriate?

Any advice would be welcomed!!! Thanks

It depends on the event but will probably work in PB. You can always take it off.

Do you want to wear a suit or not; It's your call. Heat isn't really an issue right now. BTW, is it a suit or are you trying to match jacket and trousers from different makers?

Yes.

I'd try to stay nearer the trouser color.
