My First Indochino Suit - should I ask for remake?

Just got my Indochino Essential Navy Pinstripe suit today.

My wife measured me 2 times to ensure the measurements were correct.

First, the pants, I think the fit is generally pretty good.

Thought it's slightly long, and the rise is maybe 1/2 inch short.

Secondly, the suit (sorry about the pants sticking to the right shoe)

My thoughts:

- shoulder is 1/2 inch wide on both sides
- sleeve is 1/2 inch too long
- chest is 2 inch too large
- waist is 1 inch too large
- seat is 2 inches too large

I also don't know why there are two lines of wrinkles on each upper arm. I will take it to my tailor in a couple of days. What do you think? Should I ask for a remake?

Thanks.

So all your measurements were 1-2 inches off? Or are you saying that Indochino made up your numbers incorrectly?

2 lines on sleeve look to be a sleeve pitch issue. Rotating might do the trick.

The ripples on the arm mean the sleeve pitch is wrong. I don't think there are any measurements regarding this taken for a MTM suit. I agree with your other assessments. Looks pretty boxy, and not that great. Are you on the shorter side? The flaps on the pockets seem large relative to the jacket - I don't know if they just have a standard size for pocket flaps that then looks large relative to a jacket that is smaller everywhere else.

The pants seem to be rippling too, but idk if you can expect really well balanced trousers from MTM. Probably too much to ask.

I think in general, Indochino added 4 inches to the body measurement I submitted. I will post the both for comparison tomorrow.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I'm on the short side at 5"6'. Did not even notice how big the pockets are. Is the sleeve pitch fixable?
Thanks.

I agree with your assessment - boxy and not fitted looking in general for the jacket. Looks like a whole size too big. Looking at your measurements, maybe even more than a half inch could come off on each shoulder side but obviously you know where your shoulder ends. The pants look ok. I would send back for a full remake.

Why are you standing on a bag?

Thanks. I agree on the shoulder being more than 1/2" too big on each side. I also think the roped shoulder added about 1/2" just by itself.

I'm standing on a bag because I don't want any shoe polish to be on my carpet, just to make the wife happy.

The perils of online MTM. Would you not be better getting your money back? If your measurements were correct that is not even reasonably correct.

I've seen some nice fitting Indochino suit at http://www.indochino-review.com/p/user-reviews.html

So I think a eventual proper fitting suit through them is possible. Just want to give them another chance to fix things up, and see if the suit after remake will fit me better.

I also went through 4 shirts with Modern Tailor to get the my shirt measurements down, that's the nature of online MTM which will take time and patience. For me, it's all about getting closer and closer to the perfect fit one step at a time.

It's like they made it a size bigger. The pants length is a little long, shoulders too wide, needs to take a bit of the waist.

Hey StormRider,
I'm a bit worried now because I just placed my first order with IC for a suit using the dailyhookup.com coupon and my measurements and height are very similar to yours. When you placed your order, did you email them with any special requests? I emailed them shortly after ordering to tell them I have a very slender build (which is probably already evident in my weight) and asked if the tailor could stay close to my measurements. I also asked for higher arm holes. Hopefully they actually take these requests into consideration. I'll probably have to request a remake if they add 4 or so inches to my jacket measurements.
