What do you guys think about this sportcoat?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tchlink:top:us

Does the tag indicate that it is made by LP or do you think it is just made with LP fabric by someone else? I asked the seller and he indicated there were no other tags on the coat to indicate any other manufacturer.

Also, how does the price seem in-line for LP? Seems pretty decent to me.

Thanks!

I'd bet it's just Loro Piana cloth. If it were a Loro Piana-made garment, they'd be touting it and there would be indicative labeling.

Loro Piana's own line doesn't have a tag like that. It has a tag like this:

As Mafoofan says, that only uses the cloth from the mill.

It's not made by Loro Piana but the fabric is.

That means it could be made by one of many makers.

I have a beater 100% cashmere sport coat by Daniel Cremieux, a Dillards house brand, and it has that same LP label.

The seller thebaronofpalmbeach has some nice stuff, but he prices his items very high for Ebay. He uses a very high Buy It Now price and uses the Make an offer feature. He wants people to think they are getting a greatly reduced price when they are in fact paying a very high Ebay price (based on the Ebay market). He also says everything is "New", yet it is all "new without tag"!.

He has a nice inventory of items, but seems very high priced for Ebay.

Here is a nice Kiton suit that he says was $7900 retail, and was NWOT. He offered it for $2299 and sold it for a best offer of $1750.:

Here

It certainly was a good price for thebaronofpalmbeach, since the true retail price is not that high, and similar Kiton suits go for much less on Ebay. Maybe the buyer thought he was getting a deal because of the supposed retail price, and the $550 discount off of the Buy It Now price. I think the buyer overpaid.

I think you can get a 100% LP Cashmere coat for much less than his asking price of $269. He has a Make an offer feature. If you really like the coat why not make a low ball offer. Just because he's asking a very high price does not mean it is worth it.

Thanks guys. I figured it was just the fabric as well and was a bit surprised that he claims there is no other manufacturer label on it.

I'm in no big rush to find a coat like this so will keep a eye on it while I continue my hunt.

Thanks!
