Quick question for anyone with knowledge - there seem to have been more 'R' stamped John Lobb shoes turning up on eBay in recent weeks, and I wondered if the factory shop had dropped prices to the level that brought the flippers in again?

They are having a sale right now. That's why there are lower priced JL shoes on the bay.
FYI the sale is on till Saturday.

OK, I just 'phoned the factory shop. The sale runs until Saturday, they have a 'wide variety' of styles and sizes, with pricing ranging from £50-200 per pair.

I'll be in London next weekend, but it sounds like this is Northampton only

200 pounds for a Lobb Prestige? Really sounds too good to be true!

I think you'll find it's only riding boots, rubber soled boat shoes and really weird one-offs. Not many (if any) prestige. Probably worth a little look if it's easy enough for you to get to though...

StephenStyle is quite right the styles available are very limited and some items probably aren't actually even worth the asking price given the outlandish style + the fact they are rejects...

Outlandish rejects or not, I would gladly pay whatever John Lobb is asking for a pair of Lobb Prestige Olive Crocodile Derbys in a 8000 last with crepe soles.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
